Privacy Policy

This policy covers two things: the Android app, and our website at statussaver.mobilebytesensei.com. They behave differently, so they are described separately — the app sections first, the website in "The website" below.

The short version

Your media stays on your phone. Saving statuses, converting video to MP3, and compressing photos and videos all happen on your device — we never upload your files, and we do not operate a server that receives them.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we cannot see your saved statuses.

The app is free and supported by ads. Ads and crash/usage reporting are provided by Google, and those services do receive some technical information about your device. This policy sets out exactly what, so you can decide with full information.

On the website, we measure which pages help people — using Google Analytics, and only after you agree. Nothing is set before you choose. The website never touches your media; it is a set of pages about the app, not the app itself.

What stays entirely on your device

The following never leave your phone. There is no upload step and no cloud copy:

We have no server that holds your media, and no way to retrieve it.

What is collected, and by whom

The app is free and ad-supported. Two Google services operate inside it and receive limited technical data. We do not receive your media through either of them.

Google AdMob — advertising

We use Google AdMob to show ads. AdMob may collect and process:

AdMob uses this to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted. It is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and, for advertising specifically, https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, which also lets you opt out of ad personalisation.

Removing ads. A one-time in-app purchase removes ads from the entire app. Once ads are removed, the ad SDK no longer displays ads or makes ad requests.

Google Firebase — app stability and usage

The app includes Google Firebase, which may collect device and app-event information used to keep the app stable and understand which features are used. This includes device model, OS version, app version, and in-app events such as screen views. It does not include your media, your saved files, or the contents of anything you convert or compress.

Google Play Billing — purchases

If you buy the ad-removal upgrade, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We receive confirmation that a purchase occurred so the app can unlock. We never receive or store your payment card, billing address, or any financial details — Google Play processes payment and holds that information under its own policy.

The website — statussaver.mobilebytesensei.com

The website is a set of static pages describing the app, plus a few articles. It has no login, no forms, and no connection to the app: it cannot see your statuses, your saved files, or anything on your phone.

Before you choose

Until you make a choice in the cookie notice, no analytics cookies or identifiers are set. We use Google Consent Mode v2, which starts in the denied state. In that state Google still receives a cookieless signal for the page you are on — your IP address and the page URL, with no identifier attached — which cannot be used to build a profile of you or recognise you on a later visit. We would rather state this plainly than claim "nothing is sent", which would not be true.

If you agree

If you choose Allow, Google Analytics 4 measures your visit and receives:

We use this in aggregate. We do not attempt to identify you, we do not upload it anywhere else, and we do not use it for advertising — the website shows no ads.

Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw it at any time, see below.

What the website stores in your browser

Apart from Google Analytics, the site loads no third-party resources at all — no external fonts, no CDN, no social widgets, no trackers. Fonts and styles are served from our own domain.

Withdrawing consent, or changing your mind

Clear your browser's site data for statussaver.mobilebytesensei.com (or just the cc entry) and the notice will appear again on your next visit, letting you choose differently. Declining costs you nothing — every page works identically either way.

Hosting

The website is served by Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes connection data (IP address, request headers) to deliver the page and protect against abuse. See https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

What we do NOT do

Permissions we request, and why

Storage folder access (Storage Access Framework) To read the WhatsApp / WhatsApp Business statuses folder you select, so the app can list and save statuses.
Media / files access To save statuses to your gallery, and to read the files you pick for conversion or compression.
Notifications (Android 13+) To show progress and completion for conversion and compression jobs.
Internet & network state Required to load ads and for Google's stability reporting. Your media is never sent over it.

You may decline or later revoke any permission in Android Settings. Declining folder access means the app cannot list statuses, since that is the folder they live in.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

Your rights

Because we hold no account and no server-side copy of your data, there is nothing on our side to export or delete — removing the app removes your local data. Files you have already saved to your gallery remain yours and stay on your device until you delete them.

For the data Google processes as described above, you can exercise your rights directly with Google, and control ad personalisation through your device's Ads settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to its processing. Write to us and we will help you direct the request to the right party.

For the website specifically: because consent is the legal basis for analytics there, you can withdraw it at any time by clearing the site's stored data (see "Withdrawing consent" above), and the notice will let you choose again. If you are in the EU/UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; if you are in California you may opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — we do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we will confirm that in writing on request.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app or the website handles information, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.

18 September 2026 — added the "The website" section: this policy now covers statussaver.mobilebytesensei.com, including consent-gated Google Analytics, the items stored in your browser, and Cloudflare Pages hosting. The app sections are unchanged.
